FAQ's

Where is De Paul Degree College located?

DPDC is located between the Infosys Campus in Mysore and the Brindavan Garden in Mandya, i.e. on the boarder of Mysore-Mandya Districts. It is 15 kms from the Mysore Railway Station and 3kms from the Infosys Campus.

  1. If you are coming from Hunsur, Hassan, Madikeri, Coorg and Kannur areas, you have to take a left-turn at Yelwala and enter Yelwala-Srirangapatna bypass road, and the college is located on the left side 4.5 kms from Yelwala.
  2. If you are coming from Manathawadi and HD Kote areas, take a left-turn at Mysore Ring Road, travel around 6 kms to reach Hinkel Flyover, take left-turn, travel 2 kms to reach Hootahalli Signal, and take right-turn toward KRS for around 6 kms, you will find BEML and then NIE campus on to the left-hand side, proceed a little further to reach small junction, an take a V-turn to the left for half a kilometer, and you will find DPDC on the left side.
  3. If you are coming from, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Wyanad, Sulthan Bathery, Nanjangod areas, take (after the Mysore Airport) a left-turn at Mysore Ring Road, travel around 10 kms to reach Hinkel Flyover and follow the above B directions.
  4. If you are coming from the Mysore Railway Station, move 100 mts to KRS bus-stop on the right side (petrol bunk), get on to a bus No.303, travel around 16 kms to alight at Paper Mill Circle, and DPDC is 1.5 kms from there towards Yelwala on Srirangapatna-Yelwala Bypass road.
  5. If you are coming from Mysore City Bus-stand, get on to Bus No.303 and then follow above C directions.
  6. If you reach Mysore Suburban Bus-stand, travel 2 km to City Bus-stand and follow the above D directions.
  7. If you contact us, it will be our pleasure to guide you or even arrange transportation for you to reach DPDC.
  8. It is just 150 kms from Bangalore International Airport.
About the Management?

DPDC was founded by the Vincentian Fathers of the South Indian Province of the Congregation of mission and is managed under the Vincentian Education Society.

Do you have other sister concerns?

Yes. Besides a number of reputed schools all over India, the Congregation of the Mission has four universities, namely, De Paul University - Chicago, St. Johns University - New York, Niagara University Niagara Falls and Adamson University

Manila Philippines.

Do you have hostels?

The campus is spread over 54 acres and there is spacious hostel facilities with all required amenities, including Wi-Fi, separately for boys and girls on the campus itself.

I would like to know about the canteen facility?

Yes. We have a multi-cuisine canteen that provides dishes of international standards, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, the latter every day except Fridays. The college also has another canteen that is open from 9 am to 6 pm.

When can parents visit their wards?

Any time between 8 am and 6 pm, with prior intimation to the respective Residence Directors or Principal.

How often the hostel students can go home?

No restrictions in general, if approved by parents who have to seek permission from / intimate the respective Residence Directors or Principal, as long as they maintain 75% attendance in every subject to appear for any University exams, and at the same time, frequent absence from classes can certainly affect the academic performance of the students; so parents are not encouraged to be liberal in this aspect.

Can students use mobiles?

Yes, but not in the college block, as per the code of conduct in the college. Violation can attract hefty fines depending on the discretion of the disciplinary committee. The college has ensured that students have enough mobile-time during times other than the college hours, library, dining hall, study time, etc.

How often students can go out of the hostel?

Generally every other Sunday besides other emergencies or special permission from parents. The management also respects some of the parents’ instructions not to send their wards outside the campus at all without their permission.

In case of medical emergencies?

The college provides preliminary medical aid on the campus itself, and if required, sees that students get proper and timely medical care in a specialty hospital under the supervision of the Residence Directors.

Are there any scholarships?

Yes. The college has introduced many scholarships for students under various categories. You can get the details of them at the time of admission and apply for them by filling up appropriate application forms which in turn will assessed by the management and students will be informed about their eligibility.

Do you have internships?

Yes.  It is mandatory for all 6th Semester students to complete 50 hours of internships in organizations of their choice assisted by the internship coordinators of the college.

What about the sports facilities?

Yes. We have the best of the sports facilities in the city. Many of our students are members of sports and games teams of the University of Mysore.

Will the parents be informed about the progress of the students?

Yes. Parents are constantly updated about the performance of their wards in studies, other extra-curricular activities and attendance.

Is the fee structure affordable?

Yes, definitely. It is not higher than the fees elsewhere in other colleges in the city. Considering the facilities and ambience, it is unbelievably economic. The college provides assistance in procuring loans too for the needy students.

How does De Paul Academy benefit students?

De Paul Academy is a flagship initiative of the Vincentian Society aimed at providing the country efficient and effective bureaucrats and professionals.
