  • Aims of NSS

    The operational aim of NSS is to integrate the three basic components of the programme. NSS programme should provide a variety of learning experiences which must develop a sense of participation, service and achievement among the volunteers.

    NSS Regular Activities: As stated above, NSS volunteers undertake various activities in College campus, adopted villages and slums for community service. Duration of these services is 120 hours.

    Best NSS Unit Award By The University of Mysore

    The NSS Unit of De Paul First Grade College have successfully conducted three village camps at the following places i.e, Kergalli village, Mysore Tq and Dist. in the year 2019-20, Maidanahalli village, Mysore Tq and Dist. in the year 2018-19 and Basthipura village, Srirangapatna Tq, Mandya Dist. in the year 2017-18. More than 50 students participated in each camp every year. Students were engaged in different activities such as Personality Development Programmes, Special Lectures, Health Camps, Women Empowerment Programmes, Creating Awareness through Jatha Programmes, Swatchatha Programmes, Community Service, Sports, Cultural activities etc. These camps have enabled them to acquire leadership qualities and also helped in personality building. The NSS Unit of De Paul First Grade College was Awarded as the Best NSS Unit in the year 2019-2020.

    Hemaltha B N
    Hemalatha B N is very actively involved in NSS activities and has been a NSS Program officer for more than 5 years. She has discharged her duties as a Camp Officer at various District, State and National Level Camps. She has been awarded as the Best NSS Programme Officer of the University of Mysore for the year 2019-20 in recognition of her meritorious service rendered in the field of NSS. She has conducted various activities and competitions in college for the growth and development of the students and one among such activities is a University Level Workshop on “Self Defense and Women Empowerment” in association with National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Mysore and Rotaract Club of De Paul College.
