At De Paul College, Mysore, we are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment that ensures equal access to quality education for all students. Special provisions and facilities have been thoughtfully put in place to support differently-abled students, helping them participate fully in academic and campus life. These facilities include:

The college building is equipped with clearly identifiable ramps at key access points, particularly near the main entrance, to support easy mobility. All ramps and staircases are fitted with hand railings to ensure safe and independent movement.

Wheelchairs are available on campus to support students with physical disabilities, ensuring they can navigate the college premises comfortably.

All floors of the college are equipped with elevators/lifts, making every part of the campus accessible to students with mobility challenges.

Accessible toilets, rest areas, and classrooms are located on the ground floor, designed specifically to accommodate differently-abled students and ensure their comfort and dignity.

๐Ÿ”น Scribe and Examination Support

As per the Government of Karnataka guidelines (E.D 5 UNE 204 dated 05.03.2004 and E.D 5 UNE 2004 dated 22.03.2004), the college offers scribe facilities for students who are visually impaired or face challenges in writing. The following provisions are in place:

  • Students are allowed to select their own scribes
  • The scribe must not have a qualification lower than that of the student
  • An additional 20 minutes per hour is granted during examinations for eligible candidates
  • For hearing-impaired students, answer papers are evaluated with additional care to account for possible language difficulties in grammar and sentence formation

In accordance with university guidelines, the college provides reservation of seats in admission for differently-abled students, ensuring fair access to higher education opportunities.
